Dear Neighbors and Friends,
I have been honored to represent the 5th District on the City Council for almost four years. The energy, strength, and health of our district are inspiring to me. The mix of renters and homeowners; students, faculty, UW staff, hospital employees, and those without a UW affiliation; apartments and houses; retail, offices, and residential; as well as many different ages and incomes keeps the area vital and interesting.
Now I am running for re-election to represent you for two more years on the Common Council. I hope I can count on your support. This district has shown itself to be smart and caring, sophisticated and well informed on both city and neighborhood issues. These are qualities I value in this neighborhood, and I feel I represent them as well.
The city, University, and neighborhood are all undergoing changes, and we need to make decisions about where we want to go and how our community will look. I am proud to be a progressive leader, protecting social services for those who need help, considering our transportation and land use options, and working to improve and maintain the qualities we value in our community.
